Welcome to our website
We very much hope you will enjoy seeing about our work, preserving the historic music making
skills required to play the King of Instruments, the mighty theatre organ, and perhaps be inspired to
visit Rye to see one of our shows, or perhaps to make a donation to the charity.
Congratulations to Richard Moore BEM
Our world of organ music has been blessed with quite a number or awards over the years, including
MBEs for Phil Kelsall and the late Len Rawle, and BEMs for Byron Jones and Nicholas Martin.
We are thrilled to announce that in the 2025 New Year Honours, His Majesty King Charles III has
awarded our founder, Richard Moore, the British Empire Medal (BEM) for his 'Services to Music
Education and Preservation in East Sussex'.
Congratulations, Richard Moore BEM.

The Rye Wurlitzer Academy
is the only project in the world with an ethos of
teaching students how to play the theatre organ
through providing them with regular lessons on a
Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ and giving them an
electronic organ for home practise, all for FREE!
Please note that photographs displayed on our website and on our Facebook page are the property of the RWA,
We have consent from the students’ parents to use them in these locations only. They should not be copied nor used for any other reason
